this is my third mascara review and i'm giving it 2 out of 5 stars. this one's a volumizing mascara, like max factor's false lash effect..which means, it makes your lashes look thicker. i like the mascara's brush because it had 2 kinds of bristles (as in parang pinagsama na twisted, ganito o: so ayun, diba, nice yung idea? the usual brush, is for spreading the mascara, then the red bristles which are plastic are for separating the lashes.
BUT. the mascara is a fail. spell clumps??? pero it really gives you this false lash effect din naman. and it makes your eyes pop too. it just takes practice in applying the mascara, lalo na with this one. the first time i tried using it, as in nagdikit dikit ang lashes ko kahit sinuklay ko na before applying the mascara. medyo fail nga, pero pwede na (kaya nga 2 ut of 5 lang).
and the blackened ruby shade isn't so bad, i've always used black mascara, and this one, isn't too brown na mukhang fake. feeling ko parang eto na lang din nga ata saving grace nung mascara eh. :))
oh, and it costs 600+ halos kapresyo ng false lash effect... so medyo pricey.. not so sulit.
kaya...winner parin ang unstoppable shiny black at lash extension ng maybeline!!! nyahaha :)
}o_o{ (emoticon ko yan with lashes. chos) :)) a couple of weeks ago, nanay brought this new mascara from maybeline, the unstoppable lash extension mascara. at kaninang hapon ko lang na-try ito out of boredom since super loyal ako kay false lash effect. :p if you guys remember the previous review, i also said something about their unstoppable mascara, iba ito, yun shiny black, ito lash extentsion. i give the mascara four out of five stars. reason #1 i liked the manipis na brush, which is said to be desgined for asian eyes. though di siya plastic like the one from max factor, hindi rin naman nagclump ang klashes ko. reason #1.1 madali ma-coat ang strands (gets? basta, diba when you apply mascara, you do that thing na parang you're applying sa bawat eyelash, at hindi lang yung pataas na move mula sa base.haha.) reason #2 hindi siya water proof, kaya madaling tanggalin. bad point: kung iyakin ka, ang fez mo magmumukhang dikya matapos mo mag cry-ola. good point: madali siya naaalis ng make up remover. pero siguraduhing magtanggal muna ng make up before maghilamos, otherwise, dikya eyes nanaman. reason #3 it's cheaper!!! super factor talaga ito sa akin. hahaha! lalo na't taghirap, it's nice to find make up na swak sa budget. it's only a little over 300 pesos! this one also does wonders, not only to your lashes, but to your wallets or your folks' as well. :) so there, 4 out of 5 stars. tie sila ni false lash effect! pero iba naman ito, lash extension daw. nyahahaha :p umiral lang ang kaartehan ko kaya eto.
just when i thought Maybeline's Unstoppable Shiny Black mascara was the sh*t...there came Max Factor's False Lash Effect. Although it would cost a bit more, i think it's sulit. It really gives that "full lashes effect", at iba yung brush nya, not the typical mascara brush, it's more like the one from Cover Girl, (yung color orange na inendorse ni Whitney from ANTM), though this one is bigger.
the downside, it is not waterproof..or para sa mga iyakin tulad ko, hindi rin siya luha-proof.
so if you want to invest on a nice mascara, and you're on a tight budget, go for Maybeline's Unstoppable Shiny Black. And if you are willing to shell out a few more hundred pesos, go for the False Lash Effect. Really does wonders. : )
more kikay reviews to come pag nagka pera ako. hahaha : )
masarap. its chewy. although i wasn't able to taste the dark chocs with the first batch (maybe because i had the sniffles). but they're chewy. like mrs fields chewy and chips ahoy chewy..ergo earning it the four stars.
i really liked the oatmeal cookies. so chewy. it wasn't so ma-oatmeal that you'd think your eating pure oatmeal thats shaped like a coaster. ito hindi ganun.
as for the lemon bars. lemon na lemon nga! as iiiin. i love it! medyo overwhelming lang ang lemon-ness nya, pero may hint of sweetness parin. and the custard part, i luuuurve. ang chewy nya. hindi rin dry.
but then according to my nanay, medyo nasobrahan daw ang baking soda sa unang batch. chef's defense: "di ko na-sift mabuti. hindi ko nadamihan, sakto lang yun". then when i came to school, there was another batch of choco chip cookies ready for another taste test.
ayan ang tunay na mahusay na tagapagluto (ano ba tagalaog ng chef???). kaya tumanggap ng criticism. at laging handa i-improve ang craft nya. go dang! : )
kay ganda (and not to mention, ang sarap) ng ganito! hahaha!
so over all ratings: choco chip cookies: 3.5-4 (3.5 for the sumobra kuno sa baking soda batch). oatmeal cookies: 4.5 lemon bars: 4
lurve! lurve! lurve!
 vanilla cupcakes.
yes, moist vanilla cupcakes with lemon filling. another home made masterpiece by my person, len david. she actually surprised me with these two days after my birthday.
you know the vanilla cupcakes form sonja's? eto, MAS MASARAP PA DUN. MAS MOIST PA. see, i just can;t stress it enough, i had to type it in all caps. come to think of it, its already good even with out the lemon filling. the cake was so moist and vanilla goodness was all over it. but no, may lemon filling pa! it wasn't so lemon-y that you'd think malapot syang lemonade on a cupcake, the sweetness was just right ot complement the vanilla.
so again, here's another four stars to the home made treat made by len.
at wala anng pictures. by the time naisip ko kumuha ng picture, naubos na namin yung cupcakes. eto seryoso ito. hindi ko ito sinasabi dahil person ko ang gumawa nito.
its pure home made awesomeness. made by mi person, len david. since i'm not really a fan of marshmallows (tingin ko nga isa yung sa mga pinaka ewan na pagkain sa buong mundo), all i see in it is a heap of ka-umayan. but not this one. kasi...
its homemade. so walang scientific whatnots na maka nakahalo dun di tulad nung mga nasa grocery na may kung anu ano na nakasulat sa ingredients label. ergo, its healthier. the mallows are big too. parang yung choco mallows. ganun. kakaiba din kasi yung tamis nya, itsmatamis but not too matamis. and i'm telling you, its not nakakaumay at all. exception ang marshmallow na ito.
at eto pa...hindi magrereklamo ang mga wallet nyo sa presyo. :) | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Animation |
yeah!!! sabi nga ni jemoi, its pure awesomeness!!! tama! tama! tama! i lurve it!!!
pure awesomeness. pure awesomeness. nyahaha : ) i got it for free...so its the sh*t!
its approved by the world dental chorva (ano nga ba ulit yun cissy?)..so its the sh*t!
its sugar free...so its the sh*t!

kung may best things to munch on this summer...ito naman ang best thirst quenchers this summer..actually not so sure on the thirst quenching part, pero malamig ang mga ito. so basta. ayun.
1. hershey's cookies n' cream (4 stars) i don't know if i was just pms-ing pero ito lang yata ang iniinom ko sa office (yes, i love syaing that dhail OJT mode na ako). best enjoyed ice cold.
2. razon's halo halo (10 effin' stars!!!) this is totally the sh*t of all halo halos!!!! its not the typical halo halo, dahil kung tutuusin, tipid nga sya sa halo halo, kung icocompare mo sa chowking at dun sa little quiapo. but i guarantee you, this. is. the. best. hahaha!!! worth eveyr single peso you're gonna shell out. ang galing nga eh, the price varies on the location..like sa market!market!, it costs 70 pesos, sa bulacan, 60somehting yata...tas its even cheaper sa pampanga..basta, the closer you are sa main branch..the cheaper!haha!
3. good 'ol h2o (10 stars pag malamig, -10 pag maligamgam!) duh. hahaha. | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | Middle Eastern | | Location: | West Avenue, Quezon City |
i guess you guys know what i'm gonna say... IT'S THE SH*T MAN!!!!!!! hahahaha!!!!!
let me give you a couple of reasons why i gave the place and the drink 5 stars:
1. it won't hurt your pockets and won't leave your wallets looking like an anorexic model. the prices are very reasonable. for a meal, you might just have to shell out 200 pesos, and the oh so yummy yogurt shake is only 35 pesos! as in sisimutin mo sya to the last drop. hahaha!
2. its very accessible, and the place is not hard to find (ahem.ahem.) ;)
3. the place isn't air conditioned, medyo open yung area, tas may mga ceiling fans lang ang nagbibigay ng hangin, so medyo feel mo ang init ng summer, at mas feel mo pa ang init ng summer dahil THE PLACE IS FILLED WITH HOTTIES!!! hahaha! it is a hottie heaven!
so when you leave the place, i'm sure not only your tummies thanking you for the treat but your eyes as well ; )
see, who told you that you can't have the best of both worlds? hahaha :) 1. T.G. I. Friday's Potato Skins Snack Chips in Cheese and Bacon its not your typical potato chips, compared to lays or piatos, its made of fried potato skins. yuuuum. nevermind the fried part.hahaha!the cheese and bacon flavor may be a bit salty, kaya ok yan sabayan ng coke. wag coke light or coke zero, mas nakakataba daw kasi yung diet verison compared sa regular. (4stars)
2. Oishi's Sponge Crunch just when you thought thier pillows were great...this one's the sh*t.hahahaha! imagine croutons out of chocolate bread, dipped in chocolate milk and baked to perfection.hahaha. better not get the party pack becuase there's a huge chance you'll finish it (all by yourself) in just one sitting (5 stars)
3. Potato Crisp (yun nga ba?! or is it Potato Crunch?!)..basta their Nori flavored chips, the one that they're giving away in yoshinoya if you like munching on [potato chips and the nori flavored snacks like the ones you can get at aji ichiban, i suggest you try this snack. hello sodium!hahaha! its the perfect marriage between mr nori wrapper and ms patatas.hahaha! (3.5 stars)
4. Sun Snack roasted sunflower seeds thanks to len, nakilala ko ito.hahaha! its healthy. sunflower seeds eh.hahaha! (3.5 stars) | Juno | Mar 5, '08 1:55 AM for everyone |

*sabi nila indie film daw yun.
i lurve it! i lurve it! i sooo lurve it! its really not the typical movie. napaka funny, napaka smart. its not really nakakaiyak, pero dahil iyakin ako, naiyak ako.hahaha!
you know the role that music plays in movies, right? like if there's a scene na madrama, a senti song or somehting melodramatic is playing in the background so mas dama nung viewer yung emotions nung characters... but with juno, wala. as in kung may scene na madrama, or whatever, walang background music, and yet dama mo yung scene. ganun naman sa totoong buhay diba? as if naman nagaaway kayo ni boypren/girlpren tas may backgorund music pa.hahahaha! : )
i give juno 2 thumbs up. pati na rin big toes! hahaha! : ) | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | Other | | Location: | Camp John Hay |
we are all familiar of swiss miss and hershey's hot choco. but this one's different. the hot choco at CJH is prepared just like the old times, where they pour the hot choco in a container then they churn it before pouring it in the cup. its not really sweet as in chocolate-y sweet. its more like a bitter-sweet blend. and it also comes in different blends, there's that traditional blend, strawberry, cinnamon, orange and i'm pretty sure there's anothe one, i just forgot what its called.
another 4 stars for the nice cozy vibe that the place gives. its seats are made of those wooden thingamajigs (yung mga mukhang galing sa trunk ng puno, tas parang ewan yung shape)
a cup costs from 70 pesos(original) to 80+(flavored)
Good Shpered is famous for its strawberry and ube jam that people have to fall in line to get their own bottles. along with their baked siopao, huge oatmeal cookies, they also sell strawberry gelato (gelato, according to wikipedia, is an italian ice cream made form milk and sugar and other flavorings. in this case, its made from strawberries). but this isn't your typical ice cream. they said its made of milk, non-dairy cream (whatever that is..basta masarap naman yung product, so carry na!), and strawberry syrup. and since we know that they don't add preservatives to thier food stuff, the gelato is made from pure strawberries. even the syrup, is from real strawberries and not the pink ones from hershey's.
strawberry gelato is sold at the good sheperd convent in baguio at 15 pesos per cup. | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | Desserts | | Location: | ground floor, SM Megamall |
it was dubbed as singapore's best coffee bun, and it's finally here in the philippines. it's not really a resto, and actually, they don't serve any other pastry. it's just their coffee bun. their oh so yummy and oh so soft and freshly baked coffee buns. yummmm. for the price of 40pesos, i think you'll get your money's worth on this one. and its selling like hot pandesal (the good ones :)) | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | Desserts | | Location: | serendra building/condo, fort bonifacio global city, taguig |
cupcakes by sonja (pronounced as 'son-yuh' as in like anna and bianca..ok enough with the pronounciation thyingamajig..)is located at serendra, the resedential/commercial building located right infront of metro market!market! at fort bonifacio global city. this by far is one of the tastiest, yummiest cupcakes i've ever tasted. they've got nice flavors like peppermint, chocoalate surprise, etc. actually, i'd give the (chocolate)cake itself three stars. it's not really moist, actually its on the thin line between being moist and dry. nothing really uber special. although the creamy-ish and moist texture could be experienced by your tounge and pallette when you eat it the whole thing, with the icing (you can't really appreciate it that much if you'd eat the cake first then the icing)... speaking of the icing, i would definitely give that one five stars. the icing on each supcake could be almost half an inch thick. and dang! the sweetness is just right (though you might want to have a couple of glasses of water after that cupcake so you won't be wanting to grab another one, but then again, these are life's little guilty pleasures). the icing of the chocolate surprise for example, isn't really uber chocolate-y but could taste that there is a hint of cocoa in it.
prices start at a wee bit over 60pesos. | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | Other | | Location: | marikina/white plains |
since i got so caught up with the thought of pandesal as i was writing my blog, i decided to do a review on this place which serves one of the best pandesals in the country.
pan americana has two branches, one is in marikina and the other one is in the white plains area. the one in marikina also serves meals such as sinigang na tyan ng bangus, a serving of which costs less than a hundred pesos and i could even perhaps have two in a sitting. they also serve steaks(which are yummy) costs over a hundred but perhaps not over 180. the place looks also nice, it has this nature effect, think tree house(there is actually one but then medyo nangarag sya nung bagyo)/nature effect. but then the place closes before 6pm.
the one in the white plains area doesn't serve meals. pan americana's pandesal costs 4.50. you'd probably think its a bit pricey for a pandesal, but its really sulit. the pandesal is huge. its even larger than my fist. and it's not hollow. as in pure tinapay! hahaha! just like pan de manila, their pandesal is pugon baked (those really huge ovens na mukhang pang sinaunang panahon). another nice thing about it is that their pandesals are bromate free and they use brown sugar instead of white sugar so it's healthier.
so in case you'd want some real quality pandesal, give pan americana a try.

i'm not quite a fan of talkshows. i don't like to watch boy abunda's homeboy (i find it annoying when he says, "kaibigan, usap tayo"...i think it seems soo plastic). let's give kuya boy...ugh..nothing.hahaha!!!
i like to watch tyra, especially when they make those "social experiments" and when she had the wyanns brothers on her show. and i also like to notice how much she gained weight. not that she looks like she weighs 190lbs(says the tabloids) and looks awful, but there's this self esteem booster factor that i get. (ewan, basta parang she still feels beautiful and sexy kahit na TUMABA sya). but what i don't like about her show is there would always be a moment where she'd talk about her "momma" or her supermodel days. i-co-connect at i-co-connect nya talaga yung usapan sa mga ganung bagay.
let's give the ANTM host tres estrellas.
and i also like watching rachel ray's show on the lifestyle network. she's so perky,so energetic that i don't think blood circulates on her system but rather COFFEE. maybe she's the long lost italian sister of the energizer bunny. the lady makes me feel like i'm a frustrated chef everytime she starts to make those 15minute meals.
for that, let's give her tres estrellas.
i've only seen this lady on tv a couple of times before i got hooked on her talkshow. first was from the movie "if these walls could talk" and "ed TV", a movie that a saw on HBO. for somewierdness reason, the's almost 50 and she's got this really great amount of energy, and i'd find myslef laughing on her comments. now i can't think of anything more to say, eh i'm reviewing nga this show mas mahaba pa nasabi ko tungkol kay tyra banks! hahahaha!!! basta, try watching it.
for that, i'm gonna give the oscar host's show, cuatro estrellas! | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | Other | | Location: | somewhere in valenzuela (ayon sa kahon) |
other ang type ng cuisine nya..ewan ko kung ano eh..haha :)
my uncle got us this whole chicken to go from this resto called savory. as far as i know, this resto is really old, lola even told me that she and lolo used to go there when they're on a date (not that lola is reaaaally old, pero the fact na doon nagdedate dati si lolo at lola, eh ibigsabihin eh matagal na yung resto na yun). anyhooo... their chicken is soooo yummy. i could remember finishing half of it back in 4th year hs(that was the last time i had one). its like lutong bahay (geez. that sounded so colehiyala), then the chicken is so tender, and the gravy, well actually it didn't taste a lot like gravy, was also yummy. it's just sad that there are only a few branches around, and it would be really nice every now and then to have a meal like this instead of the typical chicken mcdo, chicken joy, max's or kfc. and since kelangan mo pa dayuhin ang mga branch nito, pagkatapos mo kumain, maiisip mo na ok lang na dinayo mo yun :)
